I wanted to do a little follow up on biblical names quickly, because I found some gems for girls in one of my many baby name books! The list is of patron saints. Here are some that would go onto my short list:
Adelaide
Anastasia
Colette
Diana
Emma
Genevieve
Helena
Madeline
Sophia
and
Zoe
So, there! More female biblical names and many of them are names that I wouldn't have thought of to be biblical at all! Shoot, Helena to me is Greek. Anastasia is Russian. Emma screams British. But keep in mind, patron saints have been popping up since well beyond the years of the Bible. So, they aren't all biblical in a sense, but they're close!

Adelaide is a name we actually picked for our first daughter. Love it! We might use it on our next kiddo if she's a girl. I love the name. So many nickname potentials too!
ReplyDeleteAdelaide is one of my favorite names of all time. It's got that classic air without sounding stuffy. It's creative too! You won't find a lot of little girls with that name.
ReplyDeleteEmma is so pretty. One of my favs right now. Genevieve is pretty too and I have a friend who just named her daughter that (nickname is Jenny, but I'm not sure how she spells it). I also like Madeline and Sophia. Good names!!
ReplyDeleteI'm really behind on reading your blog...but I thought I'd pipe in with the fact that Adelaide is actually the root for my name. I really don't see how Heidi is pulled from Adelaide unless I try to force it to happen in my head, but I've always had an affinity for the name after learning that. It helps that I love my name (especially when my parents told me I was almost a Gretchen).
