What's the deal with Arabella

Here we go.  Ivanka Trump named her beautiful new baby girl Arabella Rose.  Wonderful name!  Of course I love it.  The problem here is that Arabella is only going to become more popular now.  For those who weren't already aware of the name, they probably will be now.  So, just how popular is Arabella right now?

In 2010, Arabella ranked 386.  In 2009, it was 447.
2008 was 655, 2007 was 650, 2006 was 645, and 2005, the year it debuted back into the top 1000 since the 1800s, it was 795.

An impressive debut for a new name and an impressive climb thus far.  Well, it isn't over yet.  There's a huge -bella and -ella craze going on right now.  Isabella has been climbing since it broke into the top 1000 in 1990 and now it's number 1.  The name Bella alone sits high on the charts (#48).

All of these names are appealing because they're melodic names with a good amount of credibility.  Ella is a celebrity favorite.  Isabella is the heroine of the Twilight series (if you can call her that). In general, girl's names with an 'l' in them are a hit amongst parents right now.  It's not really going to be a surprise if Arabella bounces into the top 100 in the coming years.

Even though Arabella is likely to continue climbing the charts and becoming more common, I can rest easy that far less than 1000 Arabellas were born in the time frame that will make up my Arabella's graduating class.  Even if there's 3 Isabellas, she can always be my beautiful little Arabella.
